Zimbabwe 1986, Erika Raven's first appearance in the world of comic strips. Two short stories were published. Lotus, the first Ripley adventure, was published in Kuifje/Tintin. Zimbabwe in the monthly magazine Wordt Vervolgd owned by strip editor Casterman. The story shows the same ingredients as in many other Erika Raven's stories: helicopters, ruins, exotic countries and adventure. The most beautiful part is the role of the black girl Ebbekopje (Ebony Face) who starts a new life at the end... as a legend. In 1992 besluit Erika het oorspronkelijk bij Casterman gepubliceerde verhaal zelf uit te geven. Verschillende pagina's werden herwerkt, en gebundeld in Hoofdstuk 1 - Zimbabwe, dat, aangevuld met het vervolg, Hoofdstuk 2 - Ebbekopje, een volmaakt geheel vormt, en in een speciale map op 1.000 exemplaren wordt verspreid. Van dit album bestaat ook een collector's item: 24 genummerde en gesigneerde albums met een ingekaderd origineel uit het werk. |
